Museum of Lost Heritage - Birmingham

The Museum of Lost Heritage's (MoLH) initial focus is the former Museum of Science & Industry (MSI), Birmingham prior to and during the site's demolition and redevelopment.

The 'Remembering the Future' Open Days in June 2006 involved the creation of themed trails around the site with fellow artist and poet Alistair Grant. The aim being to interpret the history of the site; its condition now; and the future use of the site.

As part of this initial phase of the project I focussed on developing five interventions: Openings; Chaotic Cluster Database; Black Redstart Landing Pad; Spitfire Shed; and Steel Bar Store Fernery.

'Openings' was a precursor to the Open Days. It was the first opening up of the site; allowing the public sightlines into the old museum complex and 'formalising the act of peeping through keyholes and peering through grimy windows'.
