I have a broad experience of leading practical workshop sessions including:
Tate Britain June 2009 - 'Journey Through Form'. Artist's book making workshop for adults in association with the Richard Long exhibition 'Heaven and Earth'. This two-day course covered a wide range of skills and subjects from the production of a simple pamphlet, through basic folds to the development of prototype books in response to the broad themes of sequence and journey. This was all backed up by access to the Long exhibition and a visit to the Tate Library collection.
Stanley Road Primary School, Worcester Summer 2009 - big SMALL Things. As part of a Creative Partnerships Bright Space initiative I led a series of practical sessions with 3 to 5 year olds where they had the opportunity to explore the microscopic world through mark-making, collage, painting and book making. The children's work provided visual material from which I developed wallpaper designs and 3D features for their school. Go to the bST projects page for more information.
