Tamed

With Robert Colbourne

Background from the MADE brief
"As part of the Tamed project MADE and The Environment Agency wish to commission an artist to undertake a residency working closely with the project team at the Environment Agency on the design of the flood defences along the River Tame in the Witton area of Birmingham.

"A key aim of this commission is for the artistic practice to impact on the overall design of the scheme and explore how the involvement of an artist can bring actual change to what is primarily an engineering and environmental focused process.

"From the Environment Agency perspective this project is a way to explore new models of consultation, collaboration and design which could inform future methods for public works. This residency is an opportunity to test the potential for artist collaboration with design teams on engineering projects."

The project is now in a design detailing and fabrication phase with installationof our design elements set to commence in early 2016. More news to follow.
