Portable, multiple, affordable … I have long enjoyed the
possibilities of artist’s books and multiples as a mode of
production and ideas expression. From 1993 to the mid-2000s,
artist’s books were my main medium, with over 40 titles produced
during this time. I still value the format and often incorporate
some form of printed matter, multiple or publication into my
projects, commissions and residencies.
My artist’s books can be found in the following collections: Tate,
London; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; The National Art Library,
V&A Museum, London; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; The
British Library, London; Winchester School of Art; Manchester
Metropolitan University Library; Centre des Livres D’Artistes,
St-Yrieix-la-Perche, France; Chelsea School of Art, London; John M
Flaxman Library, Chicago; Dean Clough, Halifax; Buchkunst,
Germany; and private collections worldwide.
An article by Maria White about my 1999 work, from Sowtontown,
can be found on the Tate
